Last month, Bryan Danielson faced Kazuchika Okada at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Danielson won the match after putting a Lebell Lock on Okada.
However, The American Dragon suffered an injury during the match. Bryan Danielson stated during the Forbidden Door media scrum that he fractured his right forearm ten minutes before winning the bout.
Brie Garcia posted an x-ray of Danielson’s injury on Instagram a few days later and said that the injury is a lot worse than first thought. Danielson was supposed to compete in the Blood & Guts match prior to the injury.
On Instagram, Bryan Danielson provided an update on his condition a few hours before the AEW Dynamite broadcast. Danielson stated that he successfully underwent surgery two weeks ago and is now in the recovery process.
“About to sit and watch #AEWDynamite, and thought I’d give an update on my arm. I got surgery about two weeks ago, where they put a steel rod and 9 screws in my arm. Surgery went well and now I’m on the road to recovery. I’m bummed I’m missing #BloodAndGuts (again!), but PAC is an excellent replacement on the BCC side. Thanks to everyone for all their support, and make sure to check out Dynamite tonight!”
The Golden Elite defeated Blackpool Combat Club in a Blood & Guts match last night on AEW Dynamite.
