CM Punk was supposed to defend his “Real World Championship” against Ricky Starks at All Out earlier this month. However, a day before the show, Punk was fired from All Elite Wrestling. Bryan Danielson then made his return and faced Starks in a Strap match at All Out.
For months, CM Punk was the face of AEW Collision. However, Danielson now become the top star of the brand. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, The American Dragon discussed Punk’s termination.
“In any job, when you lose somebody who’s very important, or you lose somebody you really like working with, that’s hard. But everyone keeps doing the job. And any time there is loss or controversy or struggle inside an organization, it’s a chance to bring people closer. It’s also a chance to divide people. So you have this thing where you can use struggle to make your life worse, or you can use struggle to make your life better.”
Bryan Danielson is scheduled to face Zack Sabre Jr. at WrestleDream on Sunday, October 1st in Seattle, Washington.
