Brock Lesnar attacked Cody Rhodes and started a rivalry on the RAW after WrestleMania last April. Lesnar and Rhodes faced each other for the first time at Backlash, where Rhodes picked up the victory.
Last May, The Beast defeated Cody Rhodes via referee stoppage after putting a Kimura Lock on Cody at Night of Champions. Brock Lesnar then disappeared from WWE television. However, The American Nightmare challenged Lesnar to a tie-breaker match, but Lesnar didn’t respond.
Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes started a brief feud with Dominik Mysterio. Yesterday at Money in the Bank, Rhodes picked up the victory over Dominik after hitting a Cross Rhodes. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Cody Rhodes said that he would love to see Brock Lesnar back on WWE television.
“I would love it, absolutely love it if Brock Lesnar would come back to work. I’d absolutely love it. I don’t think he’s going to though. Initially, we said hey, I’ll be in every city right? I gave him my dates, right? I’m about to post those dates again for July. I give them every date. I think Brock’s annual hiatus might be who knows… I’d love it if Brock came back because to me it’s so weird to leave it at one on one. We’ll see if not Brock, that’s a more interesting question.”
