Drew McIntyre competed at WrestleMania 39, where he faced Sheamus and Gunther in a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship. The Ring General pinned McIntyre to retain the title. Since then, McIntyre disappeared from WWE television.
The Scottish Warrior’s deal with WWE is set to expire in the first quarter of 2024. Recently, multiple news outlets reported that McIntyre isn’t happy with the money that WWE offers for a new deal. However, as of now, the situation is different.
PWInsider reported that Drew McIntyre won’t be returning to the company until the creative team finds a proper storyline for the Scottish Warrior.
“Big crux of the current conversations between the two sides is how McIntyre will be used from a storyline perspective, particularly how meaningful the storyline will be.”

PWInsider also noted that McIntye’s name has been discussed for Money in the Bank.
“There has been a push within WWE creative to have McIntyre back into the storyline mix by Money in the Bank weekend in London. Given his status as one of the company’s top European stars, that makes the most sense. We are told there were meetings last week regarding pitches for McIntyre’s return as he hasn’t been seen since WrestleMania 39 and was Drafted to Monday Night Raw in the weeks after.”
