Drew McIntyre made headlines this week due to his contract situation with WWE. McIntyre disappeared from WWE television after WrestleMania 39, where he was put over the Intercontinental Champion Gunther.
The Scottish Warrior’s WWE contract is set to expire later this year. According to multiple news outlets, McIntyre is unhappy with the creative direction of his character. Also, he isn’t satisfied with the money that WWE offers for a new deal.
Last night’s SmackDown took place at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. PWInsider reported that Drew McIntyre had promoted the last night’s SmackDown by doing a lot of local interviews throughout the week. McIntyre was also included in the promotional image of Pinnacle Bank Arena’s website.
“As we noted in the Elite section of PWInsider.com, McIntyre actually did a lot of interviews this past week to promote the Smackdown taping locally in Nebraska, so one would think that would mean he was scheduled, at that point, to take part in the taping.”
As of now, Drew McIntyre has blackout his Twitter and removed all the WWE references in the bio.
