Asuka hurt her knee on the March 15th episode of SmackDown. However, she was able to compete in several shows. After competing at Backlash PLE, The Empress announced that she would take a hiatus from WWE. In June, Asuka successfully underwent knee surgery.
PWInsider reported that Asuka has signed a new contract with WWE. As of now, the details of her new deal have not been disclosed.
