Paul “Triple H” Levesque started to oversee the WWE product after Vince McMahon stepped down in July of last year. However, McMahon changed his mind and involved the creative team in April.
Last month, Vince McMahon lost his majority control of WWE after the company merged with UFC to form TKO Group Holdings. 51% of TKO is controlled by Endeavor, while 49% is controlled by WWE shareholders.
Recently, Endeavor CEO Ariel Emanuel stated during Bloomberg’s Screentime conference that Vince McMahon is a reason why TKO stock is down.
Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reported that Ari Emanuel removed Vince McMahon as the head of creative. As a result, Triple H has regained control of the WWE product.
“[Vince] McMahon remained the title of Executive Chairman in WWE, but he no longer possesses majority control of the company. That has allowed for change in the new regime, particularly in the creative department. Multiple contacts within the WWE and UFC have confirmed that Ari Emanuel, who wields power as the Endeavor CEO, is behind the change.”
