Alex Pereira Comments On Potential Move To UFC Heavyweight Division

Alex Pereira Comments On Potential Move To UFC Heavyweight Division

Last month, Alex Pereira (11-2) retained his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship by defeating Jiří Procházka (30-5-1) via KO at UFC 303. Pereira has previously held the UFC Middleweight Championship. Many fans are eager to see Pereira move to heavyweight and become the UFC’s first three-division champion.

On his YouTube channel, Alex Pereira said that he is currently focusing on the light heavyweight division. Pereira also said that he directly wants a Heavyweight Title fight if he moves to the heavyweight division.

“To be honest, heavyweight isn’t my objective, it isn’t my main focus. Like I said, my focus is on my category. I’m evolving a lot, doing very good. I’m not going to force anything, I think when I go to heavyweight, today I have the baggage, the name. I would dispute the belt. Like I said, I’m 37, so I have to go directly to the top. Directly to the belt. If it’s Jon Jones, if it’s Aspinall, whoever. To me, doesn’t matter. I’m just visualizing the belt.”
