AJ Styles last competed at WWE Live Event in Hershey, Pennsylvania on December 29th, where he teamed with Karl Anderson and Mia Yim to face Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley in a Six-Person Tag Team Match. However, the match didn’t end according to plan.

During the match, Balor threw Styles over the top rope. As a result, Styles suffered an injury and immediately gave the tag to Anderson after powerslammed Balor. Karl Anderson then put a roll up pin on Finn Balor to win the match. Following the match, Anderson and the referee carried AJ Styles backstage.

On Thursday, PWInsider reported that AJ Styles’ injury was serious and believed to be an ankle injury.
Now, AJ Styles has provided an update regarding the injury on his social media. Styles stated that he suffered a broken ankle but doesn’t require surgery. The Phenomenal One further said that he will be out of action for a long time.

“Just want you guys to know that I’m ok. Broken ankle is what I’m dealing with. No surgery, this just takes some time to recover. This will be the longest I’ve ever been out of the ring. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes.”
