The finals of the Continental Classic tournament took place on December 30th at Worlds End, where Eddie Kingston defeated Jon Moxley. Kingston became the inaugural AEW Continental Champion and retained the ROH World Title & NJPW Strong Openweight Title.
Rush competed in the Gold League of the Continental Classic tournament and was able to get six points in total. The former ROH World Champion last competed at Worlds End, where he teamed with Brody King, Jay Lethal, and Jay White to face Blackpool Combat Club, Daniel Garcia, and Mark Briscoe.
On X, Rush stated that he suffered a torn hamstring during the match against Mark Briscoe on the November 29th episode of AEW Dynamite, and he will be taking a hiatus to recover from the injury.
“In the #AEWContinentalClassic I tore my hamstring in the second match I had.
I will recover and return ready and hungrier than ever for a fight.
