AEW President Tony Khan had a great reputation due to booking his shows properly since the company’s launch in 2019. However, Khan recently started booking random matches for Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision.
Last Wednesday’s Dynamite main event was a better example. Tony Khan also gave the fans MJF vs. Kenny Omega this past Saturday on Collision. That match had less than two weeks of build-up.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that many wrestlers are now frustrated with Khan due to last-minute decisions. Meltzer also noted that some wrestlers don’t know about the creative direction of their storylines.
On X, AEW producer and coach Jerry Lynn noticed Meltzer’s report and issued the following response.
“Because wrestlers and God knows who else have and continue to leak info to the sheets, podcasts, etc. So Tony tries to keep things confidential. You wouldn’t want to know everything before you see a movie. Anyone who leaks info is doing damage to the product and the industry.”
