This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. Rey Fenix defended his International Championship against Jeff Jarrett in the opening match. Fenix retained the title with a small package pin.
Nick Jackson defeated Brian Cage and Claudio Castagnoli in a Triple Threat match to become the No. 1 contender for the International Title. Nick will face Fenix next Wednesday.
MJF and Adam Cole came to the ring to address the fans. Cole said that he suffered an ankle injury and would require surgery. Cole was about to announce that they would relinquish the ROH Tag Titles. MJF stopped Cole and said that he would defend the title at WrestleDream alone. Roderick Strong along with The Kingdom members then appeared on the stage. Roderick told Cole that he had an emergency and needed Cole. Adam Cole left with The Kingdom. Jay White then confronted MJF in the ring.
Orange Cassidy defeated Penta El Zero Miedo, Matt Jackson, and Austin Gunn in a Four-Way Match.
Julia Hart defeated Willow Nightingale. After the match, Hart attacked Nightingale. Kris Statlander made the save.
Adam Page and Swerve Strickland signed the contract for their match at WrestleDream. The show ended with several masked men attacking Jay White.
According to Nielsen via SpoilerTV, the September 27th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 855,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.28 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
