This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jon Moxley defended his International Championship against Big Bill in the opening match. Moxley put an Armlock on Bill to retain the title. After the match, Ricky Starks and Big Bill attacked Moxley and Danielson. Claudio Castagnoli made the save.
Don Callis revealed that Kota Ibushi is their next target.
Toni Storm defeated Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida and Nyla Rose to become the No.1 contender for the AEW Women’s Championship. Storm will face Saraya for the title next Wednesday at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.
MJF did the “Steiner Math” promo against Samoa Joe in a backstage segment.
Adam Page defeated Brian Cage. Swerve Strickland challenged Page to a match at WrestleDream. Cage and Prince Nana ambushed Page. The Young Bucks then came to the ring and saved Page.
Samoa Joe defeated Roderick Strong to win the Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament. Joe will face MJF for the AEW World Title next Wednesday. Roderick was carried on a stretcher after the match. Adam Cole was concerned about Roderick and tried to walk to the backstage with him. However, Mike Bennett and Taven stopped him. Joe then put a Coquina Clutch on Cole.
According to Nielsen via SpoilerTV, the September 13th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 888,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
