This past Tuesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri. Christian Cage appeared from inside the production truck and talked about the No.1 contender’s match for the TNT Championship. Christian said that he talked with WBD and got the first 30 minutes of the show commercial-free.
Bryan Danielson defeated Swerve Strickland to become the No. 1 contender for the TNT Title. Danielson will face Christian for the title this Saturday on AEW Collision.
Powerhouse Hobbs squashed Chris Jericho. After the match, Hobbs delivered the World’s Strongest Slam on Jericho.
Orange Cassidy defeated Rey Fenix to become a 2-time International Champion.
Wardlow squashed Matt Sydal.
Jay White defeated Adam Page. After the match, MJF appeared on the stage and asked White to give his Triple B back. Jay White said no. He also said that MJF has to wait until Full Gear to get back the title. White added that MJF should find three members to face The Bullet Club Gold. Juice Robinson said that he will enter next week’s Dynamite Diamond Dozen Battle Royale and win the ring.
Hikaru Shida defeated Saraya to become a 3-time AEW Women’s Champion.
Adam Copeland faced Luchasaurus in the main event of the show. Christian Cage tried to hit Copeland with the TNT Championship when the referee was distracted by Nick Wayne. Copeland grabbed the championship and hit Luchasaurus with it. He gave the championship back to Christian. Luchasaurus thought Christian hit him with the championship. Adam Copeland then delivered a Spear to win the match. The show ended with a huge brawl between Blackpool Combat Club and The Mogul Embassy.
According to Nielsen via SportsTVRatings, the October 10th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 609,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
