This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York. Orange Cassidy kicked off the show to defend his AEW International Championship against AR Fox. Cassidy retained the title. However, Jon Moxley attacked Cassidy after the match.
In a backstage segment, Don Callis told Chris Jericho that he booked Jericho to team up with Konosuke Takeshita against Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia in a Tag Team match. It was made official for next Wednesday.
Tony Schiavone interviewed the new FTW Champion Jack Perry in the ring. Perry said that the FTW Title was created in a second-class wrestling promotion. Perry said that the title didn’t get the spotlight it deserved until he became the title holder. The former ECW wrestler Jerry Lynn interrupted Perry and said that if Perry keeps running his mouth he will beat him. Jack Perry then challenged Lynn to a match next week on AEW Dynamite.
PAC defeated Gravity in a singles match.
Swerve Strickland defeated Darby Allin in a Grudge match. AR Fox helped Strickland to win the match. Fox then joined the Embassy.
Britt Baker defeated Taya Valkyrie by Lockjaw submission.
In the main event, The Lucha Brothers defeated Blackpool Combat Club and Best Friends in a Three-Way Tag Team match. Penta El Zero Miedo pinned Trent Beretta to win the match.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the July 26th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 898,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.29 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (July 19) drew 953,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
