This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Undisputed Kingdom kicked off the show. Adam Cole addressed the fans and justified his action at Worlds End. Jay White and The Gunns then came to the ring and had a brawl with the Undisputed Kingdom. The Acclaimed also joined the Bullet Club Gold. The Undisputed Kingdom retreated.
Orange Cassidy defeated Dante Martin to retain the International Championship.
Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews accepted FTR’s challenge in a pre-recorded segment. House of Black members will face FTR this Saturday on AEW Collision.
Mariah May defeated Queen Aminata. Renee Paquette interviewed Mariah May after the bout. Deonna Purrazzo made her AEW debut and interrupted May. Purrazzo said that she would come for the AEW Women’s World Championship and attacked May.
Konosuke Takeshita defeated Darby Allin.
Trent Beretta defeated Brian Cage, Bryan Keith, and El Hijo Del Vikingo to earn a Continental Championship opportunity. Baretta will face Eddie Kingston for the title this Saturday.
In the main event, Swerve Strickland defeated Daniel Garcia.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the January 3rd episode of AEW Dynamite drew an average of 801,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
