This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. The show kicked off with the Gold League finals of the Continental Classic. Jon Moxley defeated Jay White and Swerve Strickland in a Triple Threat match.
In a backstage segment, Tony Schiavone informed Swerve Strickland that he would face Keith Lee at Worlds End.
Don Callis and his family came to the ring. Callis unveiled several paintings of Powerhouse Hobbs, Konosuke Takeshita, and Kyle Fletcher. Sammy Guevara interrupted Don Callis, and the two exchanged a few words. Sammy shoved Callis. He was then attacked by Hobbs, Takeshita, and Fletcher. Chris Jericho came to Sammy’s aid. Sting and Darby Allin also appeared in the ring to help Jericho and Sammy.
Eddie Kingston defeated Bryan Danielson in the finals of the Blue League. Kingston will face Moxley in the finals of the Continental Classic at Worlds End.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage were involved in a backstage brawl.
Skye Blue defeated Kris Statlander. Julia Hart and Skye Blue attacked Statlander. Willow Nightingale made the save.
The Devil’s Masked Men defeated MJF to become the new ROH World Tag Team Champions. After the match, Samoa Joe hit MJF with a chair.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the December 27th episode of AEW Dynamite drew an average of 843,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
