This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The show kicked off with the match between Jon Moxley and Komander. Moxley put a Rear Naked Choke on Komander to win the match.
Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara challenged FTR to a match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship next Wednesday.
Eddie Kingston defeated Wheeler Yuta to retain the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship.
In a backstage segment, MJF and Adam Cole revealed that there will be a tag team Battle Royal on this Friday’s Rampage to determine their opponents for the ROH Tag Team Titles at All Out. Plus, the No.1 contender for the AEW World Championship will be determined in a tournament. The winner will face MJF on the September 20th episode of the AEW Grand Slam.
Adam Cole came to the ring to address the fans. Roderick Strong interrupted Cole and said that he would enter the AEW World Championship tournament. Strong also said that he would beat MJF to become the new AEW World Champion.
Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Kris Statlander defeated Marina Shafir, Nyla Rose, and Emi Sakura in a Six-Woman Tag Team match. After the bout, Ruby Soho ambushed Statlander.
The Acclaimed introduced brand new custom AEW Trios Championships to the fans.
In the main event, Orange Cassidy defeated Penta El Zero Miedo to retain the AEW International Championship. After the match, Jon Moxley confronted Cassidy.
According to Nielsen via SpoilerTV, the August 30th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 871,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (August 23) drew 870,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
