This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia. The match between Elite and Juice Robinson & The Gunns didn’t happen as both teams got into a brawl before the bell rang.
Jon Moxley defeated Rey Fenix in a singles match. Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta brutally attacked Fenix after the bout. Fenix was then carried out on a stretcher. Santana and Ortiz joined BCC to face Eddie Kingston, Orange Cassidy, Best Friends, and Penta El Zero Miedo in the Stadium Stampede match at All In.
Darby Allin and Nick Wayne defeated Swerve Strickland and AR Fox in a Tag Team match. Fox was kicked out of the Mogul Embassy. Christian Cage then became Strickland’s tag partner at All In.
Ruby Soho defeated Skye Blue.
Billy Gunn made his return and challenged House of Black for the AEW World Trios Championship at All In.
In the main event, Aussie Open defeated the Hardys to retain the ROH Tag Team Championships. After the match, MJF and Adam Cole confronted Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the August 23rd episode of AEW Dynamite drew 870,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (August 16) drew 874,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
