This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite took place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The show kicked off with the International Championship match between Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta. Cassidy was able to retain the title. Blackpool Combat Club attacked Cassidy after the match. Best Friends and Lucha Bros made the save. Eddie Kingston then made his return and announced that they will face BCC in a Stadium Stampede Match at All In.
Jimm Ross interviewed Kenny Omega at Daily’s Place. However, Jay White, Juice Robinson, & Konosuke Takeshita ambushed Omega. Omega was then sent to a hospital. Adam Page said that he and Kota Ibushi will team up with Omega to face White, Robinson & Takeshita at All In.
Chris Jericho challenged Will Ospreay to a match at All In after he was attacked by Ospreay and Takeshita.
Jeff Jarrett defeated Jeff Hardy in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death Match. Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh helped Jarrett to win the match.
Britt Baker defeated The Bunny to qualify for the Four-Way AEW Women’s Championship match at All In.
In the main event, Young Bucks defeated The Gunns in a Tag Team match. Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Gunns attacked Young Bucks after the match. FTR made the save.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the August 16th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 874,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (August 9) drew 846,000 viewers on TBS and a 0.29 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
