Tony Khan kicked off this past Saturday’s AEW Collision with the announcement of CM Punk’s termination. The show featured Bryan Danielson, NBA Hall of Famer Dennis “The Worm” Rodman, and many other stars. However, Collision did the worst rating in the show history.
According to Wrestlenomics, the September 2nd episode of AEW Collision drew an average of 345,000 viewers and a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The show opened with 472,000 viewers but 89,000 fans turned off/switched after Tony Khan announced Punk’s termination. As a percentage, AEW lost 19% of the Collision audience. The first hour drew an average of 446,000 and the second hour drew an average of 244,000.

There are a number of reasons for the AEW Collision viewership drop. Those are CM Punk’s termination, WWE Payback on Peacock, and college football on ABC and NBC.
