Adam Cole’s WWE contract had been rumored to expire in 2024.
However, Wrestling Inc. reported that, it is expiring this August after SummerSlam. Cole’s contract was actually up after the Great American Bash last month, but he extended it.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select added that, Adam Cole’s contract with WWE expired in early July. A temporary deal has been work out to keep him around for another month, and then things could be re-evaluated after SummerSlam weekend.
A major WWE contract was expiring recently in that of former NXT Champion Adam Cole. There was an assumption internally that Cole’s WWE contract expired in December, but WWE sources have reached out and noted that they became aware that the deal was actually up in early July. Despite that, we’re told that Adam Cole expressed to WWE that he was willing to work through Summerslam weekend and re-evaluate things. WWE sources put over Cole for being open to doing that as opposed to just appearing on another program without any notice by WWE. There was once word within WWE that Cole had actually signed a new deal when the USA Network agreement came to be, but that was not the case, despite the internal rumors.
Adam Cole made his debut in 2017 and without a doubt he’s one of the best in-ring workers in the current generation. Adam Cole’s name was trademark on August 4, 2020 by WWE. This means If he wants to go to other promotions, WWE doesn’t allow to use his name.
