WWE changed its commentary team several times within the last couple of years. In October 2022, Kevin Patrick replaced Byron Saxton on the WWE RAW announce team. Patrick did the play-by-play alongside Corey Graves on the red brand, while Michael Cole and Wade Barrett provided the commentary for SmackDown.
Last August, Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves were moved to SmackDown. Michael Cole also joined the blue brand’s announce team to improve Patrick’s skills. However, earlier this month, Cole was removed from the SmackDown commentary booth.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported Kevin Patrick is no longer working as a commentator for SmackDown. As of now, there’s no detail on who will be replacing Patrick on the show.
“Kevin Patrick is gone. Unless something changes. I don’t know the details, I don’t know who is going to be replacing him. I’m not surprised. They just did an announcer change on the 1st of the year, so it was a couple of weeks ago. Like I said, I’m not surprised, Corey Graves has been totally carrying the SmackDown brand. I don’t know who they will get to replace him, could be [NXT] Vic Joseph.”
