This past Tuesday’s NXT Heatwave kicked off with the match between Ilja Dragunov and Trick Williams. Dragunov delivered a Flying Elbow Strike on Williams off the top rope to win the match.
Ivy Nile defeated Ava. After the match, Schism followers surrounded Nile. However, Nile attacked them.
Noam Dar defeated Nathan Frazer to win the Heritage Cup.
NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton said that she will be the greatest champion than Bayley, Asuka, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch. Gigi Dolin, Kiana James, Blair Davenport, and Roxanne Perez came to the ring to demand a title opportunity. However, the segment ended in a huge brawl.
Dragon Lee and Lyra Valkyria faced Dirty Dominik and Rhea Ripley. In the closing moment, Raquel Rodriguez attacked Ripley. Lee then pinned Dominik to win the match.
In the main event, Carmelo Hayes defeated Wes Lee to retain the NXT Championship.
According to Nielsen via SpoilerTV, the August 22nd episode of WWE NXT drew 720,000 viewers on USA Network and a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (August 15) drew 680,000 viewers on USA Network a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
