Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson Issues Statement After KO Loss To Joaquin Buckley At UFC 307

Last night, Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (17-8-1) faced Joaquin Buckley (20-6) in a welterweight bout at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Unfortunately, the fight didn’t go as Thompson expected. In the third round, Buckley knocked out Thompson to pick up his fifth consecutive win in UFC.

On X, Stephen Thompson posted a video to thank those who supported him.

“What’s up guys, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson Here, I just got back to the hotel. I don’t even know how I got here. But again, I get knocked out by an overhand, once by Pettis, either on the cage or off the cage. It is what it is. I wanna say thank you to all of my fans. You guys really showed up for me as I walked out there. You guys have shown me so much support over the years. I really do appreciate it. And I love you all.”

Wonderboy wrote the following in the description.

“Not much to say other than I sincerely appreciate all of the love and support I felt from the fans tonight and always 🙏🏻❤️  the love you’ve shown me really fills my heart. The roar of the crowd as I walked out to the cage and my name was announced is something I’ll cherish forever. I’m sorry I didn’t get it done tonight. Much love to you all and much love to SLC 🫶🏼”
