Shotzi Removed From SmackDown Match After Suffering An Injury At NXT Tapings

WWE taped the February 20th episode of NXT after this past Tuesday’s show. Lyra Valkyria defended her NXT Women’s Championship against Shotzi in the main event of the show.

Unfortunately, Shotzi suffered a knee injury while performing a DDT on the ring apron. The match was stopped, and Shotzi was carried backstage by the medical team.

NXT General Manager Ava then announced an open challenge for Lyra’s title, which was accepted by Lash Legend. Lyra defeated Legend to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.

Shotzi was supposed to face Tiffany Stratton in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match this Friday on SmackDown. Nick Aldis announced that Shotzi won’t be able to compete at the show due to the injury, and Zelina Vega will be taking her spot.
