Shawn Spears made his All Elite Wrestling debut at the inaugural Double or Nothing pay-per-view, where he competed in the Casino Battle Royale. However, Spears had an underwhelming run in Tony Khan’s company. At one point, he aligned with the current AEW World Champion MJF.
The 42-year-old last appeared in AEW at All Out this year, where he competed in the Over Budget Charity Battle Royal. However, Shawn Spears wrestled in numerous independent promotions despite not being booked for AEW shows.
On X, Shawn Spears announced his departure from All Elite Wrestling. He stated that leaving the company was his personal choice.
“What a wonderful time it has been.
Thank you @AEW for allowing me to be there from the ground level. It’s been a fantastic 5 years of growth and personal development.
This is a personal choice and one that is best for me and my family at this time.
Thank you to all, staff and talent alike for the memories ❤️
