This past Saturday, Team Cody defeated The Judgment Day in a WarGames match at Survivor Series. However, their celebration was limited to a few minutes due to the return of CM Punk.
Fan footage showed World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins furious about the former AEW World Champion’s return. Rollins was held back by Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and several officials.
Last night, WWE held the Live Holiday Tour at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. Seth Rollins defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura in a Triple Threat match at the event. Rollins retained the title by delivering a Curb Stomp on Nakamura.
The Visionary addressed the fans after the match. Seth Rollins mentioned Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, and Becky Lynch, who competed in the show. Rollins thanked fans for attending the event. CM Punk chants then emerged from the crowd. Rollins responded to the chants as follows.
“I’m not going to waste any more breath on somebody that’s been gone for 8 years, has done nothing but try and tear this place down. Instead, I’m going to take my time and use my breath to talk about the people who’ve been here all along. That’s everybody in the back who’s made WWE the hottest ticket in town, that’s every single one of you who are here tonight in Peoria.”
