Sasha Banks last competed on WWE television on the May 13th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where Banks and Naomi defeated Natalya and Shayna Baszler to retain their Women’s Tag Team Championships. Banks and Naomi then walked out on the May 16th episode of Monday Night RAW after a creative meeting with Vince McMahon.

The company then stripped Banks and Naomi from the Women’s Tag Team Titles and suspended them indefinitely. In recent months, there were a lot of rumors circulated about Sasha Banks’ status with the company. Last month, Banks was seen training with former WCW wrestler Juventud Guerrera.

PWInsider has reported that Sasha Banks is scheduled to appear at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17. The show will take place on January 4th and 21st in Japan.

“Mercedes Varnado aka WWE’s Sasha Banks is expected to be at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event next month, according to several sources close to the situation.

While it is unknown whether Varnado will be appearing before the live crowd, we are told that NJPW is bringing Varnado in to the event.”

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
