Robert Helenius Banned From Boxing For 2 Years After Anthony Joshua Fight

Last August, Robert Helenius (32-5) faced Anthony Joshua (28-3) in a 12-round boxing match in London, England. Joshua knocked out Helenius in the seventh round to pick up the victory.

On Friday, United Kingdom Anti-Doping banned Robert Helenius for two years for using a prohibited substance. Helenius tested positive for clomifene a day before the boxing match. Helenius claimed clomifene may have originated from consuming eggs and chicken. However, the 40-year-old was unable to prove his claims.

Robert Helenius was provisionally suspended on September 18th, 2023. Helenius has already served 10 months of his suspension. Therefore, he will be able to step into the boxing ring from September 17th, 2025.
