Nikki Garcia Reveals She Received Legal Letter From WWE

Nikki Garcia Reveals She Received Legal Letter From WWE

Earlier this year, WWE Hall of Famers Bella Twins announced their departure after more than a decade with the company. Both Nikki and Brie later re-introduced themselves as “The Garcia Twins”.

Recently, The Garcia Twins appeared on Amanda Hirsch’s ‘Not Skinny But Not Fat’ podcast, where Nikki Garcia discussed their WWE ring name. The former Women’s Champion said that she and her sister expected a conversation with WWE about keeping “ The Bella Twins” name. Nikki revealed that she received a legal letter from WWE four hours before her contract was up.

“I think it’s different for men than women [when it comes to keeping names that the company owns]. You know, so, there was never even a conversation. I think a lot of us actually, we thought, oh, maybe there will be a conversation because we have such a huge brand and we were actually making WWE a lot of money. So we actually thought there was gonna be a conversation of like, okay, if you guys aren’t re-signing, let’s talk about the name. Maybe when you do future projects, we take a percentage, and you keep the name. I’ll be honest, I got a lawyer letter four hours before my contract was ending. They were ceasing it all.”

Nikki Garcia also said she understands that the name “The Bella Twins” is a WWE intellectual property and she’s not upset about it at all.
