Mercedes Mone last competed at the NJPW Resurgence in May, where she faced Willow Nightingale for the Strong Women’s Championship. Mone suffered a broken ankle during the match. As a result, Nightingale was able to become the inaugural Strong Women’s Champion.
At AEW All In, the former IWGP Women’s Champion was spotted sitting in the crowd at Wembley Stadium. PWInsider noted that Mercedes Mone is still recovering from the broken ankle. The AEW officials believe that Mone will make appearances as soon as she is fully healed.
“…We are told that backstage, she was wearing a heavy walking boot and that she was specifically shot in the crowd sitting to not show that. The expectation backstage is that when she’s cleared, she will be coming in for appearances…”
PWInsider also stated that if she hadn’t suffered an injury, Mone would have made her AEW debut on the July 19th Blood & Guts episode of Dynamite in Boston, Massachusetts.
