AEW President Tony Khan is now facing a difficult time in his company and has been to deal with several backstage issues. There are a lot of AEW wrestlers suffering from injuries and others are involved in several backstage incidents. Some wrestlers in AEW are not happy with the creative direction of their characters.

Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc reported that Malakai Black requested his AEW release. Giri also noted that the House of Black leader is concerned about his health and less optimistic about his AEW bookings.

I heard an AEW star requested their release, and follow up sources indicate it was Malakai Black. He reportedly has repeatedly shown concerns about his mental health due to personal life and demoralization due to the booking and handling of his character.
