Leon Edwards Issues Statement After Losing Welterweight Title To Belal Muhammad At UFC 304

Leon Edwards won the UFC Welterweight Championship by defeating Kamaru Usman via KO (head kick) in the 5th round at UFC 278. In the third defense of his title, Edwards faced Belal Muhammad in the main event of UFC 304 this past Saturday. The 32-year-old lost the title to Muhammad by unanimous decision (48–47, 48–47, 49–46).

On Instagram, Leon Edwards (22-4-1) apologized to his fans. Edwards promised to rise again.

“To my fans I’m sorry I couldn’t get the job done this time. I have been through harder times than this in life and I will rise again. Thanks for all the love and support I will get this back in blood. #headshot”
