Jon Jones Responds To Dana White’s Comments & Fan Criticism Of Stipe Miocic Fight

Jon Jones Responds To Dana White's Comments & Fan Criticism Of Stipe Miocic Fight

Jon Jones (27-1-1NC) is expected to defend his UFC Heavyweight Title against Stipe Miocic (20-4) in November. However, many fans want to see the Jones vs. Aspinall fight. The interim Heavyweight Champion stated in numerous interviews that Jones was avoiding him.

During the Contender Series press conference, UFC CEO Dana White insisted that Jon Jones is not afraid of anyone. White said that he would give a “nice little punch” to anyone who doesn’t believe Jones is the greatest of all time. The UFC CEO further noted that he believes Jones will fight Aspinall if he beats Miocic.

“Jon Jones will fight everybody. He wanted Francis [Ngannou]. You saw what happened with Ciryl Gane. He will tell you, like he told us, that he would do the same thing to Francis Ngannou; he wanted that fight so bad… I’m coming out with a nice little punch in the face for all you f–kers that think Jon Jones isn’t the greatest of all time. Dislike him, whatever your beef is with Jon Jones knock yourself out; there’s no way in hell Jon Jones doesn’t want to Aspinall, that I can guarantee you… I believe Jon Jones and Aspinall happens if he beats Stipe [Miocic].”

On X, Jones responded to Dana White’s compliment and fan backlash.

“Man, I appreciate the boss and the comments he made at last nights press conference. Sounds like I have some massive options on the table, an athletes dream. Right now I need to get back to focusing on the task at hand. Despite what some of the casuals think, Stipe is really no joke. It’s crazy that we live in a world where you can go from the best heavyweight ever to washed up after a bad performance. The reality is Francis would’ve knocked out 98% of people on the planet that night, but somehow Stipe is washed up? Stipe not competing in so long tells me that he’s had plenty of time to heal and rebuild. Let me get back to focusing on the actual task at hand, that’s what got me this far. My focus, I do what others can’t.”
