Johnny Gargano made his main roster debut on the August 22nd episode of Monday Night RAW after nine months away from in-ring action. Gargano was heavily featured on WWE television under Triple H’s regime. He and Dexter Lumis are currently involved in a storyline with The Miz.
Johnny Gargano last competed at WWE Live Event in Toronto, Canada on December 30th, where he teamed with Dexter Lumis to face The Miz and Baron Corbin. Gargano and Lumis picked up the victory in that bout. However, during the match, the former NXT Champion suffered an injury.
Last night on WWE RAW, commentator Kevin Patrick said that Johnny Gargano was unable to appear on the show due to a “Grade 2 AC sprain.”
Later, Johnny Gargano issued the following statement on Twitter and confirmed that he has suffered a shoulder injury at WWE live event in Toronto.
“I injured my shoulder at a live event in Toronto (ironic?), and the medical team is going to protect me from myself for a bit.. but you better believe I’m going to do EVERYTHING I can to get back in that ring so I can be that guy you all know I can be. Just let me in that Rumble!”
