Gunther is now the longest-reigning International Champion in WWE history, surpassing Honky Tonk Man’s decade-old record last September. The Ring General defended his Intercontinental Title against Bronson Reed during the German tour last week.
This Monday, WWE announced a fatal four-way match between Bronson Reed, The Miz, Ricochet, and Ivar to determine Gunther’s next opponent.
In an interview with Marian Bernscher of the Krone, Gunther revealed that he wouldn’t be able to leave the United States for six months due to strict residency regulations.
WWE will hold a couple of premium live events overseas next year. This means The Ring General won’t be able to compete at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. He may miss the next Saudi event as well. However, Gunther will be able to compete at Bash in Berlin next year.
Gunther last competed on the October 28th WWE Live Event in Berlin, Germany, where he defeated Bronson Reed to retain the IC Title.
