Last Night, Drew McIntyre was supposed to wrestle at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, but he was removed from the event.
According to Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net, Drew McIntyre was pulled from the weekend’s live events due to lower back issues and it is a precautionary move to wrestle against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Clash at the Castle premium live event in Cardiff, Wales.
PWInsider reported that the injury is not serious and McIntyre could wrestle at the weekend live events but WWE officials didn’t want to take a risk.
The word on Drew McIntyre being pulled from this weekend’s live events is that it is a precautionary move in order to allow him to rest ahead of The Clash at the Castle PPV. We are told that he could have worked the shows this weekend but WWE officials didn’t want to take the chance he could exacerbate the issues, so they are erring on the side of caution.
The Scottish Warrior teamed up with Madcap Moss to wrestle against The Usos in a Tag Team match this past Friday Night on SmackDown. Also, McIntyre is scheduled for a face-to-face segment with Roman Reigns at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
