Cody Rhodes is currently being sidelined with a torn pec. The injury occurred while brawling with Seth Rollins on the May 29th episode of Monday Night RAW. Despite being injured, Cody competed in a Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins and even got a victory. Many fans widely praised Cody’s performance.

The American Nightmare gave several updates about his injury throughout social media past two months. However, WWE announced that Cody Rhodes would be out of action for nine months. Cody is opposed to WWE’s statement and plans to come back much sooner.

During an interview with Busted Open Radio, Cody Rhodes was asked about his injury and recovery time. Cody said that doctor did not give him an exact timeframe.

There’s a lot of people who have had knee injuries, back injuries, sometimes spinal and neck. When it comes to the titty… Your pec… It’s a really strange injury. They tie that sucker back to your bicep. I had Dr. Dugas, he’s the best in the world to do it. The problem with him doing it is, he knows me and they are being very coy.
I was told the last time I was there for my check up, after PT they are not going to give me a timeline just yet for when I’m going to be back because they are afraid that if they give me that timeline, I’m going to try and jump it by a month or two. The surgery was really… I almost hemorrhaged in the surgery because there was so much blood. People have seen the picture of it in the match. It was pretty gnarly.

Other wrestlers who suffered that same injury had taken 4-6 months to heal. Therefore, The American Nightmare can make his return at next year’s Royal Rumble.
