Brock Lesnar's Status For WrestleMania 40 Following Lawsuit Controversy

WWE held the 37th annual Royal Rumble at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, this past Saturday. Cody Rhodes won the Men’s Royal Rumble match, and Bayley won the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Brock Lesnar was supposed to compete in the Men’s Rumble match. However, Lesnar was pulled from the show due to due to his name being associated with the Janel Grant’s lawsuit.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Bron Breakker took Lesnar’s spot in the Rumble match. Breakker spent 5 minutes and 19 seconds in the match. The former NXT Champion eliminated Jimmy Uso, Finn Balor, Ivar, and Omos. Breakker was eliminated by Dominik Mysterio.

Meltzer noted that WWE has made numerous changes to the WrestleMania 40 card in the last few days. The plan for Brock Lesnar vs. Gunther has been canceled due to the ongoing lawsuit controversy. Meltzer assumes that Lesnar won’t be part of WrestleMania this year.
