Randy Orton last competed on the May 20th, 2022 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where he and Matt Riddle dropped their RAW Tag Team Championship to Usos in a Winner Takes All Titles Unification match.
The Viper had been dealing with a severe back issue for the past few years. Therefore, Randy Orton required a fusion in his lower back. He has successfully undergone the surgery last year.
Recently, a rumor circulated that Randy Orton preparing his gear to make a return to WWE. Today, PWInsider reported that Orton’s name was discussed in the creative meetings last week.
“There’s been some rumblings about Randy Orton internally within the last week or so, where there hadn’t been any discussion about him internally in some time.”

Typically, WWE plans big returns on RAW after WrestleMania. Therefore, Orton could make his return on the April 3rd episode of RAW.
In a virtual autograph signing, Randy Orton’s father Bob Orton stated that his son will return soon.
“He’s (Randy Orton) coming along. I see him maybe once a week or so. But he’s coming along. He’ll be back in there before you know it.”
