Last month, Warner Bros Discovery announced that AEW Collision will begin airing on June 17th. In the press release, WBD stated that Andrade El Idolo will be featured on the show.

Andrade El Idolo last competed at the 2022 All Out pay-per-view, where he suffered a torn pec. Andrade successfully underwent surgery in November. However, he was sent home in October following backstage alterations with Sammy Guevara.

The 33-year-old star is now fully recovered and is scheduled to return to the squared circle on June 15th in Mexico.

Fightful Select has reported that Andrade was backstage on the May 10th episode of AEW Dynamite. AEW’s creative team has pitched Andrade to appear in a backstage segment. The segment was similar to Miro and Thunder Rosa’s return. However, he has rejected the idea.

“Fightful Select can confirm that Andrade was at the May 10 AEW Dynamite tapings. Originally, Andrade was set to appear in a segment similar to that of Miro and Thunder Rosa where he’d walk into Tony Khan’s office, teasing the impending announcement of AEW Collision. However, we’re told that he didn’t want to do that segment, but weren’t told why.”

Fightful also noted that Andrade was at the May 17th episode of AEW Dynamite as well. He has arrived at the arena to film a backstage segment for social media.
