This past Friday on SmackDown, Drew McIntyre came to the ring and challenged Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. However, McIntyre was interrupted by his tag team partner Sheamus. LA Knight, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Karrion Kross then came to the ring to challenge Gunther at WrestleMania 39. All of them then got involved in a brawl.

Later, WWE announced that a Fatal 5-Way match will take place next week’s SmackDown between Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Karrion Kross, LA Knight, and Kofi Kingston to determine the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Title.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Kofi Kingston has suffered an injury during the brawl on SmackDown. Meltzer didn’t provide more details. However, Kofi was spotted clutching his right arm after the brawl.

WWE has yet to announce a replacement for Kofi Kingston in the Fatal Five-Way match.

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
