WWE Moved Baron Corbin To NXT Permanently

By The Spotlight StaffJuly 6, 2023
WWE Moved Baron Corbin To NXT Permanently

WWE has trying hard to make Baron Corbin a star on WWE television in the past few years. The company repackaged Corbin multiple times.

First, they changed Corbin’s Lone Wolf gimmick to a corporate gimmick. He then became the King of the Ring and feuded with Roman Reigns for a long time. Corbin then portrayed a broke character on WWE television. He was then portrayed as a rich character and paired with JBL. However, nothing worked out for Corbin.

Baron Corbin last competed on the June 27th episode of NXT, where he faced Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship. Corbin was unable to win the title. This past Tuesday, WWE aired a video package of Corbin, where he burned all of his previous ring gears. The 38-year-old star stated that he doesn’t want to portray any gimmicks.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Corbin is a permanent member of the NXT brand.

“He’s a regular now in NXT and there’s going to be more people like that.”
