Jay Briscoe along with his brother Mark Briscoe made their pro wrestling debut as a tag team in Combat Zone Wrestling on January 20th, 2001. The Briscoe Brothers had a legendary career in pro wrestling. They have worked with numerous independent wrestling promotions as well as NJPW, Impact Wrestling, and ROH.

Unfortunately, Tuesday evening, Jay Briscoe passed away in a car accident. He was 38 when he died. Although Briscoe Brothers never made it into WWE, Jay Briscoe’s death shocked the pro wrestling world. During WWE NXT live broadcasting, the company announced the passing of Jay Briscoe and paid tribute to him.

I don’t have the words right now to properly convey my sorrow. I love Jay & Mark Briscoe. Always have. I wouldn’t be here without them. I’m very lucky to have shared the ring & shared so many laughs with Jay Briscoe and I’m so sad to know neither will happen again. RIP my friend.
