In the event, Bobby Lashley defended his United States Championship against Mr. Money in the Bank Austin Theory. Lashley was able to retain the US Title after hitting a spear on Theory.

After the match, Austin Theory grabbed a mic and bragged about himself. Kevin Owens then came to the ring and mocked Theory along with fans at the Oakland Arena. Owens then challenged Theory to put the MITB contract on the line to a match but Theory refused it. Theory attempted to hit Owens with the MITB briefcase but Owens reversed it and hit a stunner on Theory.
