TNA’s parent company, Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC, has officially filed a lawsuit against TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim. The lawsuit was filed on January 10 in the Nashville Chancery Court in Tennessee and centers around a dispute regarding Kim’s employment status and potential legal claims following her departure from the company.
According to reports, the issue stems from Kim informing Anthem that she believed she held legal claims against the company under the Florida Private Whistleblower Act after her working relationship with TNA ended in March 2025. The specific allegations behind those claims were not outlined in the lawsuit.
Anthem argues that Kim’s agreements with the company were governed by Tennessee law and that she worked as an independent contractor rather than an employee. Kim originally entered into a Services Agreement in September 2022, which included responsibilities in talent relations, match production, and performer services, as well as helping identify business and growth opportunities. After the agreement expired at the end of 2024, both sides continued working together on a month-to-month basis.
The company also states that Kim’s booking agreement was non-exclusive, allowing her to work on outside projects, including appearances on reality shows such as The Amazing Race Canada and The Traitors Canada. Anthem claims Kim worked primarily from home, was not a full-time worker, and received payments through a 1099 tax form.
Anthem is seeking a court declaration confirming Kim’s independent contractor status, which they argue would invalidate any claims she has threatened to bring under Florida law. The company is also requesting attorneys’ fees and court costs. At this time, no court dates have been announced, and it remains unclear whether Kim has been formally served.
