Last month, Executive Producer & Chief, Global Television Distribution of WWE Kevin Dunn left the company after working for over four decades. On Tuesday, WWE hired the replacement for Dunn.
In a press release, WWE announced that the company hired Lee Fitting as the Head of Media and Production. Fitting has twenty years of experience in the media industry.
Before joining WWE, Lee Fitting worked at ESPN, where he oversaw production for tentpole properties including Monday Night Football, College GameDay, the College Football Playoff, and many other properties within the Disney portfolio.
PWInsider reported that some people in the production and television departments weren’t thrilled about hiring Lee Fitting. PWInsider added that they don’t like Fitting because he’s an outsider. Meanwhile, others are worried that he will recruit new people instead of the current staff. Some of them are disappointed that WWE didn’t promote an employee within the company to Kevin Dunn’s role. PWInsider further noted that Executive Vice President of Television Chris Kaiser and Lighting/Set Director Jason Robinson were two leading candidates for Dunn’s role.
