Last month at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match. Many fans describe the bout as one of the epic matches in WWE history. However, Paul Heyman has been absent from WWE television after receiving an F5 from Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Heyman written off from WWE programming is to make that F5 spot more meaningful. Meltzer also added that Heyman will return as a surprise to the company soon.

The reason Heyman hasn’t been on TV is because the idea is to sell the injuries from Lesnar’s F-5 for a lengthy period of time to make the spot mean something. Likely he would return as a surprise at some point.
