R-Truth had a match against Grayson Waller on the November 1st episode of WWE NXT. However, the bout did not go according to plan. During the match, the former 24/7 champion performed an outside dive but landed awkwardly on the mat. The referee then stopped the match.
Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer noted that R-Truth tore his quad which is a severe injury. Meltzer added that Truth could be out of action for a long time.
R-Truth has posted a video clip on his social media and confirmed that he suffered a torn quad that required surgery. He also thanked the fans for supporting him.
“Hey! Hey! Hey! Wassup? Hey, y’all! First off, I want to thank each and every one of y’all for y’all concerns, y’all get wells, y’all are prayers, y’all support. Yes, unfortunately, yeah, I got hurt. I got hit with that kryptonite. I did tear my quad tendon and I’m at surgery now as we speak. My wife right there. I’ll be going in, so…um. Yeah. It is what it is, right? You guys know I’ll be back. I wanna thank you.. WIthout you, [there] ain’t no me. So, let me go ahead and handle this business and I’ll be back before y’all know it. Alright. Peace!”
